Our Property Care teams use sustainable methods to keep your landscape weed-free, low-water and in perpetual bloom.

Our goal is to stay ahead of any problems through skilled comprehensive landscape management. We keep an active eye on the demands of each season- from proper pruning in Spring, to irrigation management during August. Reliable scheduling and communication keep you abreast of your landscape, and relieved that Idlewild Landscape Design is managing it.

We provide free Property Care estimates that are tailored to the unique needs of your garden. They include costs for clean ups, routine maintenance, sprinkler system turn on and shut off, and mulching. We can also add enhancements such as container plantings, or a garden refresh, so that your yearly landscaping budget is mutually clear!

CLEAN UPS 

Clean ups bookend our season, and are a key element in the success of your landscape from year to year. They are a great option if you are putting your house on the market, having a party,  or your mother in law is coming to visit.

We provide free Clean Up estimates that are tailored to the unique needs of your garden. 

​

During Spring Clean up, we prune shrubs, cut overwintered perennials back, and establish good structure and air flow in your garden. Spring is a great time to add new top soil to the landscape and refresh the mulch in beds.

In mid May, we turn irrigation systems on, complete repairs and begin enhancement planting. ​

During Fall Clean Up, we typically leave grasses and ornamental shrubs up for winter interest- though prune lightly to help with snow load and fierce Colorado winds. We cut most perennials to the ground, rake, and haul fallen leaves away and blow sprinklers out. Winter Watering begins in late Fall.

IRRIGATION 

Having  a Waterwise landscape in Colorado is paramount to its success. Precise drip irrigation, well-tuned turf sprinklers and a properly programmed timer increase the efficiency of your water use. ​​​

Our irrigation theory is to water all perennials, shrubs and trees via drip irrigation. Drip irrigation delivers the correct amount of water straight to the root zone of the plant, and when programmed correctly, will train the plant to root deeply. This improves drought tolerance, and strengthens a plant against climate stressors such as wind, heat and cold.

We believe in functional turf, that is also water wise. By ensuring adequate coverage, clean heads, and proper timing, we can adjust your turf to be less water reliant.
