Idlewild Landscape Design was founded to serve the Boulder County area in 2006. Our owner, Anne, wanted to work outside to tend to plants and improve the community. Starting from scratch, Idlewild kept growing by learning new services and the best techniques to help clients. The goal is always to create a sustainable and beautiful space for our clients. With Anne’s knowledge of plant varieties and field tasks, her design work is unique and on a different level from other designers. We understand the real impact that our designs can have on your landscape and work with you to enact your vision in the most sustainable way possible.

Through every step of the process, Anee and our team go beyond just communicating. Our crew always puts you first and listens to your exact vision to help create the landscape of your dreams. We meet our clients on-site regularly to discuss the landscape in person, as well as communicate via text or email. Though we work to create your dream space, we also factor in your budget and note what we see in the property or what options the client has available. Sustainable landscape design means doing things right the first time. By taking into account the specific needs of each site, your landscape adds to the existing environment and has a place within it. Our goal is to design a landscape that meets those requirements.
Our sustainable practices include planting densely, amending the soil deeply, and installing water-efficient irrigation. We choose climate-adapted plants, which withstand wind and drought while supporting wildlife and pollinators. We don’t use weedcloth, chemically treated materials, and source all materials locally.
